EAST COAST JAZZ TO REMAIN INACTIVE
Despite the setback in recruiting brass players last fall, the Board Of Directors of Youth In The Arts will continue to raise funds for the return of the East Coast Jazz in 2009.
"We believe that the lack of a brass response at the open was an anomaly in view of the strong response for colorguard and percussion", said Board President Pam Kelly-Dobay of Lynn." We will try again this fall to develop a fully rounded roster for a competitive Open Class drum corps".
Other fundraising projects for 2008 include a children's carnival, Lucky Duck race, meat raffles, car washes and another buffet dinner at the Outback Steakhouse in Medford, a project that went over well last fall.
